CHASE SALISBURY
Nanaimo Realtor and Real Estate Investor
GALLERY

A Nanaimo Realtor Who Has Been Buying and Selling Real Estate Since He Was 23.
Chase bought his first investment property at 23 years old. It was a 5-plex in Old City Nanaimo, a 100 year old heritage building that needed everything. He could not qualify for a conventional mortgage, so he secured private financing, rolled up his sleeves, and spent the next 12 months doing a full renovation. Along the way he navigated asbestos remediation, buried oil tanks, knob and tube wiring, full mechanical system upgrades, and the Residential Tenancy Board. When the dust settled, the property was cash flow positive. He refinanced, pulled his renovation capital back out, and started looking for the next one. That property taught Chase more about real estate than any course ever could.
Learning How Money Works From the Inside
When it came time to finance his next project, Chase ran into the wall that stops a lot of investors: conventional lending did not work for his situation. Instead of walking away from the deal, he went and learned the system from the inside. He joined a local Dominion Lending mortgage team, spending time behind the scenes understanding how money is borrowed, how lenders think, and what actually makes a deal work.
That experience changed how he approaches every client conversation. Whether someone is self employed, looking to buy a property with a suite, or facing a financing challenge that most agents would not know how to navigate, Chase understands the
mechanics and knows exactly which mortgage professionals to call. His referral network is not a list of names. It is a group of people he vetted himself.
Building a Real Portfolio on Vancouver Island
Since then, Chase and Jessica have continued building their own portfolio. They purchased a 5 bedroom home, renovated it top to bottom, and relocated a home from Chemainus onto the property to build a 2 bedroom carriage house, navigating City of Nanaimo permitting and a successful Board of Variance exception to make it happen. They went on to purchase another property in Chase River, converting a 1,000 square foot shop into a fully finished carriage house while completing another ground up renovation on the main home.
Eleven years of buying, renovating, financing, and managing real estate on Vancouver Island gives Chase a perspective that most agents simply do not have. He has lived through the problems that come up in a transaction because he has dealt with them on his own properties first.
Why Chase and Jessica Started Annex Real Estate Group
After building a high volume of experience on one of Vancouver Island's largest real estate teams, Chase and Jessica made the decision to launch Annex Real Estate Group. The goal was straightforward: give their clients better resources, more focused attention, and a team that treats every transaction as if it were their own.
How Chase Works With Clients
Chase genuinely enjoys the process of buying and selling real estate. He is a problem solver by nature, and in real estate, problems are guaranteed. What sets him apart is the network, the experience, and the calm that comes from having navigated just about every challenge the market can throw at you.
Whether you are buying your forever home, stepping into the market for the first time, or looking to grow a real estate portfolio on Central Vancouver Island, Chase brings the kind of hands on knowledge that only comes from doing it himself.
